An American biographer, professor, psychiatrist, and Pulitzer Prize winner, he is perhaps best known as an authority on alien abductions. His works include Nightmares and Human Conflict and Passport to the Cosmos: Human Transformation and Alien Encounters. He graduated with honors from Harvard Medical School in 1955. He later became a certified psychoanalyst.
