American author whose novels, Time and Again (1970) and The Body Snatchers (1955), became science fiction classics. The latter work was adapted into the 1956 film, Invasion of the Body Snatchers. His first book, Five Against the House, focused on a casino robbery. The work became a Kim Novak film in 1955.
