Retired midfielder who spent the prime of his career in the newly-created Premier League with Southampton and Middlesbrough. He finished his career in the lower tiers with Darlington. He joined Southampton's youth team in 1984 and debuted with the senior squad in 1988, when they were still part of Division 1.
