Jah-Youth Lopez, also known as Young Jinsu, began his rise to hip-hop prominence after releasing his 2008 EP, It's My Time, on iTunes and Spotify. He continued promoting his music on SoundCloud and YouTube and, by 2015, had over 50,000 Twitter followers. At the start of his career, he was featured on the hip-hop group Frontpage's single "My Phone."
