In 2011, this Brazilian Democratic Movement Party politician took office as his country's twenty-fourth Vice President. Previously, he had served as President of the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies. After earning his law degree from the Pontificia Universidade Catolica de Sao Paulo, he became a state prosecutor and public security secretary.
