An American writer and lawyer, he is known for such posthumously-published works as John Brent and Edwin Brothertof. His autobiographical novel, Cecil Dreeme, is considered his masterpiece. He attended Yale University. Upon his graduation, he traveled widely and published several short stories, novels, and essays based on his travels.
