Remembered for such popular children's books as Make Way For Ducklings, Time of Wonder, and Blueberries for Sal, this famous writer and illustrator earned the prestigious Caldecott Medal in both 1942 and 1957. Before writing and illustrating his first children's work, Lentil, he trained at both the Vesper George Art School in Boston and the National Academy of Design in New York.
