An American science fiction writer, he is known for such works as Bug Jack Baron; The Iron Dream; A World Between; and Child of Fortune. He also wrote feature film screenplays and television scripts. He was a pre-law student at the City College of New York. He later worked as a radio show host, a vocal artist, and a literary agent.
