A writer and director for Cirque du Soleil, he also had a long career as a clown and acted on Broadway and in television. His wordless play, Fool Moon, earned both a Drama Desk Award and a special Tony Award. He started out as a Paris street mime, and then made his way to Cirque du Soleil, where he became one of the performance troupe's most memorable clowns.
