Poet, author, academic, and two-time United States Poet Laureate who is famous for a 1974 poetry collection entitled The Mother's Breast and the Father's House. His other works include An American Takes a Walk (poems) and From Zero to Absolute (prose). He founded a literary magazine called Furioso during his undergraduate years at Yale University.
