Bio:

Remembered best for his 1902 supernatural horror tale "The Monkey's Paw," Jacobs also penned such popular stories and novels as, respectively, "The Money Box" and A Master of Craft. After studying at the University of London's Birkbeck College, he worked as a civil servant. Following the publication of his 1898 short story collection Sea Urchins, he had the financial resources to become a full-time writer.
