Composer and prominent conductor who rose to prominence in the 1980s as the founder of the National Arab Music Ensemble. He was a popular performer in Paris, London, Damascus, Amman, and Tunis. He received a Bachelor's degree in Choral Conducting in 1971 from the Institute of Jnesen. He also studied at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
