Known best for founding a Welsh experimental music group called Hwyl Nofio, this guitarist and songwriter also established the London-based band Neu Electrikk and started a Yorkshire-headquartered music label called HWYL. During his childhood years, he learned to play both the guitar and the piano. He began his involvement with experimental music after receiving an acoustic guitar with steel strings and subsequently studying the work of avant-garde composer John Cage.
