A dramatist, poet, and novelist known for his ties to the Yugoslav Communist Party, he contributed essays and short stories to the Putokaz journal. He also published several collections of sonnets and a novel entitled Ponornica (Lost River). He wrote his first poems when he was eleven years old. Later, he studied law at Zagreb University.
