Over the course of his nearly five-decade career, this NBC News economics correspondent and broadcast journalist reported from Korea, Italy, Japan, Germany, and Czechoslovakia, covering many of the major world events of the Twentieth Century. After graduating from Brown University, he started his journalistic career by writing obituaries for the Providence Journal in his native Rhode Island. He later earned a degree from Columbia University's School of Journalism.
