Famous for his 2009 album La Difference, which documents the struggles faced by people born with albinism, he is also known for numerous other acclaimed Afro-pop albums, including Ko-Yan (1989); Amen (1991); Folon (1995); and Moffou (2002). Early in his career, he was a member of a Mali-based Afro-Latin music group called the Rail Band (or the Super Rail Band de Bamako). He later joined another popular band, Les Ambassadeurs.
