Welsh politician who served as the president of the Plaid Cymru political party from 2003 to 2010. He was also a well known folk singer. He began his musical career by producing Welsh translations of popular English speaking artists, including Pete Seeger and Bob Dylan. He became inspired to get involved in politics to advocate for Welsh language rights.
