American poet known for All-American Poem, Black Ice, On Earth, and other collections. Also a teacher and editor, he was affiliated, respectively, with the Vermont College of the Arts and with Tin House Magazine. He graduated from the University of Oregon. He published his debut poetic work, Amigos, in 2007.
