Known best for his role as Marcus in the 2013, Destin Daniel Cretton-directed film Short Term 12, he also appeared in the 2014 horror movie The Purge: Anarchy and was cast in a Don Cheadle-directed biopic of jazz trumpeter Miles Davis. In 2015, he portrayed Snoop Dogg in the film Straight Outta Compton. He began his entertainment career after training at Los Angeles' John Casablancas Modeling and Career Center.
