American poet whose best-known works include The Jade Mountain and A Book of Love. He was an active member of the literary and artistic community in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Five years after graduating from Harvard University, he published his debut poetry collection, An Ode to Harvard. He subsequently worked as an editor for McClure's Magazine.
