New Zealand-born poet and editor who founded a literary journal entitled Landfall. His published poetic works include The Land and the People and Charles Brasch in Egypt. He attended Waitaki Boys' High School and began writing poetry during his school years. Later, he studied at St. John's College, Oxford.
