Pennsylvania-born children's book author and illustrator. She and her husband, Stan Berenstain, became famous for their Berenstain Bears children's book series. After studying at the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art, she worked during World War II as an artist for the United States Army Corps of Engineers.
