Also known by the stage name Theon McInsane, Makinen rose to fame as the frontman of the Finnish glam rock band Lovex. His group's albums include Watch Out, State of Mind, and Pretend or Surrender. His band's first hit song, "Bleeding," was released in the summer of 2005. Less than a year later, he and his Lovex bandmates recorded their debut album, Divine Insanity.
