Famous for his 1970s international hit single "Love Is in the Air," Young was also responsible for the South African chart-topping singles "I Hate the Music," "Standing in the Rain," and "Yesterday's Hero." In the late 1960s, he and several high school classmates started a band called Elm Tree. Shortly after beginning his solo career, he released the Australian hit single "Pasadena."
