Former midfielder who came to be known as one of the greatest Ecuadorian soccer players of all time, winning seven league titles with the Mexican club Necaxa, with whom he played from 1989 to 2003. Internationally, he earned 109 caps with Ecuador and played in seven Copa Am ricas. He was born in Ibarra, Ecuador and became a star while playing in the youth ranks with Deportivo Quito.
