British poet and translator who is best known for a 1972 poem entitled "Artorius." His numerous poetry collections include The Swarming of the Bees, Time Pieces, and Sweet-Apple Earth. He studied at Queen's College, Oxford. He published his debut poetry collection, Wounded Thammuz, in 1942.
