Accountant and civil servant known for his time as the Permanent Secretary at the Cabinet Office, which he retired from in June 2012. He'd previously served as Cabinet Office's COO for the Efficiency and Reform Group. He attended the University of Cambridge, then spent two decades working for Andersen Consulting.
