In 1971, at the age of 19, he became the 41st President of Haiti. He served until 1986 when an uprising bumped him from office. He was a ruthless tyrant who killed thousands of his own people and profited off of the drug trade while most Haitians lived in poverty. He attended the University of Haiti and studied law.
