Revered football coach who coached at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 1913 to 1941, winning four National Championships during that span. He also led Muskegon High School to back-to-back state titles in 1911 and 1912. He was born in Berlin, Germany and began his coaching career with Hackley Manual Training in 1906.
