Famous as the founder and frontman of the Chinese rock band No. 43 Baojia Street, he is also notable for his soundtrack to the 2001 feature film Beijing Bicycle. At the age of five, he began training as a violinist. While studying classical music at Beijing's Central Conservatory of Music, he became interested in the rock genre and formed No. 43 Baojia Street.
