Famous for albums such as Entrega Total (1987) and the self-titled Rocio Banquells (1985), this versatile Mexican vocalist also had a successful career as an actress, starring in the hit telenovela Los Ricos Tambien Lloran. In the late 1960s, she appeared in an episode of the telenovela Gutierritoz and went on to pursue a professional stage career, starring in a 1978 production of The Sound of Music.
