Initially famous as a founding member of the pop group Clique Girlz, Monroe later formed a music duo called Destinee & Paris with her younger sister. After releasing their joint 2012 single, "Pretend," on YouTube, the Monroe siblings began pursuing solo music careers. Destinee, Paris, and the sisters' friend Ariel Moore founded Clique Girlz in 2004 and released the group's first studio album, Incredible, in Japan in 2008.
