English actor who played Jack Ford in When the Boat Comes In and portrayed Roy Figgis in Only When I Laugh. He gained additional fame for his roles in Grandpa in My Pocket and The Likely Lads. He studied at Bede Grammar School and Bemrose School before attending drama school.
