An English poet, literary critic, and scholar, she is known for such works as Stone And Flower, Living in Time, and The Pythoness. She also published an acclaimed, two-volume scholarly work entitled Blake and Tradition. She was born to a British father and Scottish mother and spent a portion of her youth in idyllic Northumberland.
