Twentieth-century author and poet who also wrote several popular Peruvian songs. His published literary works include Sky and Land of Santa Rosa, The Marshall's Wife, and The Secrets of La Victoria. He began publishing poetry when he was just fifteen years old. A literary enthusiast, he spent his college years reading books in the library instead of attending classes.
