Bio:

A prolific twentieth-century writer, he published over a dozen books and hundreds of magazine articles. His most famous works include Sardi's: The Story of a Famous Restaurant (1953) and A Murder in Paradise (1954). After serving in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during World War II, he wrote for a Tennessee newspaper called The Oakridge Times. He then began freelancing for several popular magazines, including Esquire and Cosmopolitan.
