Cambodian communist who led the Khmer Rouge revolutionary group from 1963 to 1988. He led his country in a dictatorship, forced urban dwellers to work in collective farms, and directly and indirectly led to the death of a quarter of his country's population (which was approximated 2 million people). He was a laborer after studying radio electronics at France's EFREI.
