High school teacher turned rising country singer who was a finalist on The Voice season 9. He was previously a Top 48 selection on the second season of American Idol. He put out a 2012 album called Colt Square Sessions, a 2013 effort titled Battlefield US and a 2015 EP called Falling Again. He was hanging out in his older brother's dorm room one day and picked up his brother's guitar. He began writing songs shortly after. His first independent release came in 2002 and was titled "Songs Of The Broken Hearted."
