Attorney General from 1919 to 1921 who led the infamous Palmer Raids on accused leftists, anarchists and communists. He was also a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania's 26th district from 1909 to 1915. He supported Woodrow Wilson in his 1912 presidential campaign.
