This Democratic Party politician served from 1987 until 2001 as The Bronx, New York City's Borough President. He went on to run for Mayor of New York City in both 2001 and 2005. After graduating from New York University, he began his political career as a member of the New York City Council. He later earned a Master of Public Administration degree from Baruch College.
