An American novelist, she is best known for The Bait, which received a 1969 Best First Novel Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America association. Her other works include The Ledger (1970) and The Witness (1969). After studying at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, she worked as a detective in New York City.
