Poet Laureate of Oregon whose verse works include The Shoes of Happiness and Gates of Paradise. He published two prose works -- Children in Bondage and California the Wonderful -- in 1914. He attended a Christian college in Santa Rosa, California. He later served as Superintendent of Schools in El Dorado County, California.
