Abstract Expressionist artist who was associated with the Bay Area Figurative Movement during the 1950s and 1960s. He studied at Stanford University and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was mentored by professor and muralist Victor Arnautoff and Daniel Mendelowitz while at Stanford. Both would have a powerful influence on his art.
