Most famous for playing Dr. James Gordon on the 1970s ITV children's series The Adventures of Black Beauty, Lucas is also known for portraying Inspector Lestrade in the 1968 BBC version of Sherlock Holmes. His early feature film credits include the 1950s movies Portrait of Alison and X the Unknown.
