Co-founded the Orphism movement; known for his abstract and geometric paintings that incorporated his passion for color, depth, and tone. He was known for his Saint-S vrin series, the City series, the Eiffel Tower series, the City of Paris series, the Window series, the Cardiff Team series, the Circular Forms series, and The First Disk. He first displayed his art at the Salon des Independants in 1904. His travels through Brittany acquainted him with the group of Pont-Aven.
