Twentieth-century Polish poet, translator, Biblical commentary writer, children's author, and literary critic. Her translated works include In That Great River: A Notebook and Astonishments: Selected Poems of Anna Kamienska. She was born in Krasnystaw, Poland as one of four daughters of Tadeusz Kamienski and Maria z Cekalskich. She published her first poems at age fourteen.
