Politician and Democrat who was a US Senator who represented Arkansas from 1945 to 1974. He served as the Chairman of both the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and the Senate Committee on Banking and Currency. He attended the University of Arkansas and was elected president of the student body and played for the Razorback football team for four years.
