Painter, printmaker, museum director, and teacher who opened the first private painting school in Zagreb. He Pioneered a nonlinear style and tonal variation for the sake of contrast in Croatian art. He left military school to study painting when he was seventeen years old. His first private painting school was an endeavor undertaken with famed artist Bela iko -Sesija.
