Known for his role as Darren Hughes on the BBC1 drama Waterloo Road, he previously did voice-overs of cartoons for children's TV and appeared in children's drama. He started in musical theatre when he was about 9 years old at his local school in Droylsden. He was 13 when he was picked up by an agent at Red Door Management.
