Known for such pop and dance hits as "Automatic," "Free," and "Love's the Only Drug," this singer, disc jockey, and music producer also released several albums, including Situation: Critical and Stranger than Fiction. She recorded her first album, Blue Notes in the Basement, under contract with the British office of Warner Bros. Records. She recorded some of her later albums on the Strictly Rhythm house music label.
